Keeping South Florida’s Waters Blue!

Anthropogenic activities linked to fossil fuel emissions, dumping of waste, sewage, the use of pesticides and fertilizers have put a significant toll on our community’s natural water resources. Coupled with sea-level rise and fertilizer run-off from farming and agriculture, events such as these have been proven to have devastating and often irreparable damage to natural ecosystems. Saltwater intrusion, floods, and excessive algal blooms that deplete waters from oxygen killing much of the marine life are just some examples of how it can affect marine life.

South Florida’s marine ecosystems are shattering before our very eyes and the time has come to do something about it! We here at Paragon Insurance Group love the work being done by Miami Waterkeeper. This nonprofit works with volunteers and community stakeholders to… “ensure swimmable, drinkable, fishable water” for all of South Florida.

The incredible marine biodiversity in our community is a treasure. As caring citizens, we must take a stand against the perils that threaten its existence. How much longer can we stand on the sidelines and watch as natural ecosystems perish before us? How much longer until we diligently address the imminent threat to our biodiversity, ecosystems, and the livelihood of our community?

With this campaign, we hope to motivate you to take an active role! Our agency believes in the important work being done by Miami Waterkeeper and its mission as preservation and conservation ambassadors. With your help, we will be one step further in building a community where we are vested in protecting our most valuable resources, managing sustainable growth, and protecting our biodiversity!
